To gain Steam Points for backgrounds, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Steam account.
  2. Click on the “Account” tab in the top left corner of the main window.
  3. Under “My Games and Apps,” click on “Backgrounds.”
  4. On the Backgrounds page, click on the “Add a Background” button.
  5. In the “Background Type” drop-down menu, select “Steam Trading Cards.”
  6. In the “Quantity” drop-down menu, select how many cards you want to purchase (1-5).
  7. Click on the “Buy Now” button to complete your purchase.

Getting Steam Points For Your Background

The main way to get Steam Points for use in the shop is by buying video games. For every dollar you spend on Steam, you’ll get 100 Steam Points. For reference, a typical animated background costs 2,000 points, while a non-animated one usually costs 500.

Steam users should have enough points to get a good background. If you haven’t bought any games on Steam or have already used your Steam Points, you can either buy more games or contribute to the Steam community by uploading a screenshot, review, video, guide, etc.

When you contribute to the community, you may be eligible for an award, which translates into points for you. The number of points will vary depending on the user’s award. However, this is not a sure-fire way of getting points quickly, so it’s best to stick to buying games for points. ..

Buying Your Steam Profile Background

Select Points Shop on Steam to go to the Points Shop.

The left-hand sidebar contains Backgrounds. Select this to see the backgrounds available. You can choose from animated profile backgrounds, mini animated backgrounds, or still backgrounds.

To get a background in history:

  1. Purchase a history book or online course.
  2. Learn about the different periods of history and how they related to each other.
  3. Understand the different people and events that have shaped the world today.

You can see your background by going to your inventory and selecting it. If you have many items in your inventory, search for the background. You can choose to view it full-size from here as well.

How to Set a New Profile Background

To set your background as your active profile background, open your profile settings and select the “Backgrounds” tab. Under “Backgrounds,” you’ll find a list of options for setting your background. Choose one of the following to set your background as your active profile background:

  1. Log in to Steam and click the Profile button in the top right corner of the main window.
  2. Underneath your Steam Level, click Edit Profile.
  3. You’ll see a page with some basic information about you, including your name and profile picture.
  4. To change your name or profile picture, click on the appropriate link next to your name or profile picture. ..

Select Profile Background on the left-hand sidebar to change the background of your profile.

To use a profile background, select it from the bottom of the page and it’ll show up in the preview.

You can choose to display the background in full size or the original size.

After you have completed the online form, click on the “Save” button at the bottom. ..

You can now view your profile again and see your new background in action. You can always change your background again if you wish.

How to Set a Mini Profile Background

The Steam account background is a small image that appears when people hover over your Steam account in their friends’ list. You can buy these in the Steam Points store too, and they cost the same as animated full backgrounds.

Once you buy one, you can set it up on your mini profile to easily share photos and videos with your friends and family.

You can see your selection of mini profile backgrounds near the bottom of the page. Choose one to see it in the preview.

Save your profile background to your computer by clicking on the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Your Steam gamer friends will now be able to see your mini profile background picture whenever they hover over your profile. This will make it easier for them to find out who you are and what you’re playing.

Change Steam Profile Background for Fun

To change your Steam profile background, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Steam account.
  2. In the top left corner of the main screen, click on the “Profile” button.
  3. On the Profile page, click on the “Settings” button.
  4. In the “Settings” page, click on the “Backgrounds” tab.
  5. Click on the “Add Background” button and select a fun or interesting game background from a list of backgrounds that are available to you.
  6. Click on the “Save Changes” button and close out of Settings pages when finished!
